The Wedding Where it Snowed

Our final wedding of 2008 was white and beautiful! Congratulations to Stephenie and Kristian who got married up at the Edmonds Lodge in late December.

Who knew a snowstorm could create such an intimate and joyful night? Adam and I learned this quite quickly. Everyone who made the brave trek was proud and ready to celebrate all night long.

Highlights of the night included the snow (and lots of it, last picture is the final shot of the night), the gorgeous bird cage veil on the bride, shots in the kitchen, the layers of sweets at every inch of the reception and some kisses for the presidents. (long story)

Thank you to all of the crew for having us again (we shot a bridesmaid's wedding last year). I wish everyone all the best and a fabulous 2009!

cheers,

jen

The "Wild" San Diego Wedding

A HUGE thanks and congratulations to Lisa & Jim for having us trek down the west coast to join in on the fun. Their gorgeous wedding was at the San Diego Wild Animal Park and we had so much fun meeting everyone, including some wild critters.

This adorable couple ran with the "wild" theme and it turned out amazing. At one point i turned around to a tray of colorful drinks and the waiter asked "Would you like some Jungle Juice? Tame or Wild?" (meaning alcohol or not). I laughed. It was warm (and i don't remember what that feels like now), but we were pretty fortunate to not have direct sun and the wedding party went all out to make sure these two were having the best time.

If you've never been to either zoo in San Diego, I highly highly recommend seeing them. A huge thank you to their awesome coordinator, Candace. She made sure everything ran so smoothly and even gave us some behind the scenes views at the park. Oh, and i also want to thank our amazing assistant Marlene from Fallbrook. She helped us pack, gave us maps, brought us water etc., so that we could go into the new location fully prepared.

The monday after the wedding, we then headed up to LA with the Nance family for a taping of Ellen Ellen DeGeneres. It was so fun and a huge eye opener. We hoped that they would pull Adam up to stage for a game, but no luck this time. I am still tired from the dancing though... ha. If you saw the election day airing, we were clapping in the audience a few times.

We are now back from the two trips (hawaii pics to come soon) and getting ready for Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a great time next week and make sure to eat an extra piece of pumpkin pie.

lots more travel pics to come...

cheers,

jen

One Huge Year for Roman

It's been pretty cool to have so many different shoots lately. I LOVE weddings, but sometimes it's nice to have a little less stress and excitement on a Saturday. :P The other weekend I met up with Roman and his family and friends down in Madison Valley. He was turning one and having a blast, at least most of the time.

I started the series with an event that happened about half way through the party. Mom and Dad changed Roman into his traditional Korean clothes and they had a table set up (pic 2) with a variety of objects. The objects all represented careers and passions that he may have when he grows up.

Roman was placed on the rug across the room and was urged to crawl towards the objects and choose an item (and in this case, some tears happened and dad came in for some assistance). Roman chose the piggy bank once he finally reached the table. Investor? banker? He also spent the rest of the time chewing on the art brush, so I think he's bound to be a rich artist... right.

Ok, here's the pics. We are gearing up for the San Diego Wild Animal park wedding soon, can't wait!

My First Senior

Meet Grace.

She's a super sweet and very talented senior that I had the privilege of hanging out with one sunny afternoon in September. Grace is actually also the younger sister of a former bride and groom Sarah & Irving . (they are currently famous in an issue of Seattle Bride)

It was a gorgeous fall day and Grace was so relaxed in front of the camera. I think her small addiction to Top Model paid off. :P

This was my first senior portrait and i had a blast! Thanks for having me guys, I hope to see all of you again soon! (last pic is mom, sarah and grace right before we all departed)

A Sleepy Newborn

A HUGE congratulations to Teri & George! This wonderful couple (and former bride and groom of ours who trusted us with their huge day early on in our careers) welcomed Peter into the world in early September.

I drove up north a few weeks after his birth to say hello and take a little mini session with the new family.  The good news is that Peter was absolutely adorable for me, the bad news is that he pretty much slept the whole time and it was hard to photograph him with his eyes open. :P I can't believe how small they are at that age. Wow!

I'm so close to being caught up for editing weddings now, and i can't wait for the next two. Here comes Hawaii and the San Diego Wild Animal Park! We are also going to a taping of Ellen in LA with Adam's family. I'll be sure to report on that one!

cheers,
jen
